Causes of Inflammation

Causes of Inflammation
by Marcelle Pick, OB/GYN NP

Systemic or chronic inflammation has a domino effect that can seriously undermine your health. So how does it all begin?

The immune system and the inflammatory response
Many experts now see inflammation as arising from an immune system response that’s out of control. When you catch a cold or sprain your ankle, your immune system switches into gear. Infection or injury trigger a chain of events called the inflammatory cascade. The familiar signs of normal inflammation — heat, pain, redness, and swelling — are the first signals that your immune system is being called into action.

What is your level of INFLAMMATION?

Hey Everyone,
This is an important post, perhaps the most important.  Inflammation is at the core of all our "modern" illnesses, and 8 out of the top 10 disease killers can be attributed to inflammation.

Below is a link to set us on a path of education and discovery of where we are at in regards to inflammation.  After reading, and researching, think back into your families genetic line. See if you can identify illnesses that could have either been prevented, or at the very least, minimized in severity.

Way to Go VERMONT!!!

Vermont poised to enact toughest US GMO-labeling law yet
Published time: April 24, 2014 01:36

Vermont lawmakers have passed legislation that requires food made with genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, to be labeled as such. The law, the first of its kind in the US, must now get approval from Gov. Peter Shumlin, who has supported the bill. The state House of Representatives approved the bill on Wednesday by a vote of 114-30. The state Senate passed the legislation last week by a vote of 28-2.

The Effects Of Negative Emotions On Our Health

Humans experience an array of emotions, anything from happiness, to sadness to extreme joy and depression. Each one of these emotions creates a different feeling within the body. After all, our body releases different chemicals when we experience various things that make us happy and each chemical works to create a different environment within the body. For example if your brain releases serotonin, dopamine or oxytocin, you will feel good and happy. Convexly, if your body releases cortisol while you are stressed, you will have an entirely different feeling associated more with the body kicking into survival mode.

This Is Your Brain On Aspartame

This Is Your Brain On Aspartame
Margie King

Controversy continues to rage over the artificial sweetener aspartame.  Since it was first
approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1981, aspartame has made its way into more than 6,000 food items.

The FDA claims aspartame is safe but has set an acceptable daily intake of no more than 50 mg per kilogram of body weight.  In other words, an adult weighing 165 pounds should consume no more than 3,750 mg of aspartame a day.

Electromagnetic Killing Fields

Neuroscience has come under scrutiny for its involvement in an array ofmind control initiatives
andother ethically questionable research. But at least one neuroscientist from Sweden has gone on record to caution against the increasing dangers of Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) on human beings and other living organisms, as you will see in the presentation below.

Our modern world is creating an electromagnetic soup filled with electrical pulses, radio frequencies, computer screens, wireless signals, as well as personal devices such as cell phones and gadgets that are emitting damaging radiation.

Acupuncturists Without Borders

Why Use Ear Acupuncture?

The community acupuncture method that we use is well-suited to conditions faced in a disaster or after traumatic events. We can set up our treatments almost anywhere and we can immediately treat large groups of people.

Treatments last from 30-60 minutes with people receiving treatment while sitting in a chair fully clothed. Under the NADA protocol needles go on the ears. The treatments done by AWB acupuncturists are effective for helping people facing enormous stress, anger, frustration, depression, fatigue and other emotional and physical pain.
